Here, he is described as a Daitya, who was the father of the King Mahabali.<br /><br />2 In the Atharvaveda, he was mentioned as the grandson of King Hiranyakashipu and the son of Prahlada - the saintly king, who is respected as a great devotee of Lord Vishnu.<br /><br />3 As per the legend specified in Chandogya Upanishad, once Virochana and Indra had together visited the Lord Prajapati.<br /><br />4 There, they practiced Brahmacharya for thirty-two years and learned about the Atman (inner self).<br /><br />5 Both were taught their divinity, however, Virochana misunderstood Prajapati's teaching and misguided the Asuras to worship the Sharira (body) instead.<br /><br />6 According to Vishnu Purana, he was an obedient son and was preached by his father from a very young age.<br /><br />7 Under Prahlada’s influence, Virochana became a great follower of Lord Vishnu like his father.
